Dr. Seth Eidemiller

The path that led Dr. Seth A. Eidemiller to emergency medicine was not conventional. Raised on a fourth-generation dairy farm in Idaho, he was accustomed to physical work and practical problem-solving from an early age. His career began far from the hospital, with roles that included wildfire suppression for the U.S. Forest Service and hands-on construction work, where he learned valuable skills in carpentry, electrical systems, and home building. These experiences fostered resilience and adaptability, later serving him well in high-pressure medical environments. His academic journey took him first to the University of Idaho, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in International Studies and Spanish. Afterward, he returned to Boise to complete science prerequisites for medical school at Boise State University. As a lab instructor and manager, he expanded his chemistry, biology, and anatomy education there. His time in biomedical research, focused on systems biology and human health, further deepened his understanding of complex biological systems. 2012, Dr. Eidemiller enrolled at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno. Over four years of study, he completed clinical rotations in general medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry, internal medicine, and surgery, gaining comprehensive exposure to diverse patient needs. He graduated in 2016 and was matched into emergency medicine at UCSF-Fresno. The residency provided intensive training in one of California’s busiest emergency departments, where he mastered airway management, resuscitation, central and arterial line placement, and bedside ultrasound. Throughout this period, he managed a wide range of cases, including trauma, cardiac arrest, stroke, psychiatric emergencies, and complex chronic conditions. Following residency, Dr. Eidemiller practiced handling various emergency cases at Mercy Medical Center in Merced. In 2020, he joined the Chico Emergency Medicine Physician Group. His leadership qualities became evident, and in 2024, he was named Vice Chair of the group. His responsibilities now include oversight of scheduling, operational logistics, staff support, quality metrics, and maintaining an active clinical role. He also works moonlighting shifts at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, which keeps him engaged with high-acuity patient care. Dr. Eidemiller holds board certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine, an active California medical license, and DEA registration. His clinical skills include intubation, wound care, line placement, procedural sedation, and advanced cardiac life support. His fluency in Spanish enables him to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients and families. Outside of medicine, Dr. Seth Eidemiller remains active in community service and personal interests. He has volunteered with an English language learning program and contributed to local trail maintenance efforts. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, cooking, managing home improvement projects, and traveling—pursuits that help him maintain balance in his life and career.
